Officers attached to Bori Divisional Police Headquarters in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State Nigeria, have exhumed the remains of one Prince Deeka, Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman of Kereken-Boue from a shallow grave in a thick forest located between Andoni and Bonny Local Government Areas of the State.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Bori Division, Bako Angbashim,a Superintendent of Police (SP) led coordinated and led the team of officers to the forest where the victim was buried alive.
Sources said the authorities embarked on the mission having gathered some credible and actionable intelligence which culminated in the arrest of some suspects who allegedly confessed to the crime.
Tears followed freely as the already decomposing remains of the CDC Chairman was identified by his ten year-old son before it was handed over by the Police to his immediate family.
It was learnt that some armed men had broken into the home of the late Chairman a few weeks ago and whisked him away to an unknown destination.
The image maker of the State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni could not be reached to comment on the development at press time.
