Operatives of the Anti-Kidnap Unit, Rivers State Police Command have arrested two members of a local vigilance group in connection with the abduction and murder of a young man in Obite community, Etche Local Government Area of the State.
The suspects who are members of OSPAC,a popular local security group in the State were said to have abducted the victim and later killed him when he and his relatives could not accede to their demands.
Done with their evil act,the suspects allegedly buried the victim in a shallow grave in a forest in the community.
The suspects who had made useful statements to the Police, over the weekend, took the State Police Commissioner, Compol Friday Eboka, dectectives and Journalists the forest where they buried the victim.
There was however, a twist to the saga when to the chagrin of the suspects, when the search party met the supposed grave empty.
The suspects told a bewildered Compol Eboka and the team that members of the group may have exhumed the corpse and taken it to another location ostensibly to cover up their tracks.
The Police authorities have in the meantime,vowed to extend their gragnet and get to the root of the matter which has thrown many indigenes of the area into panic and drawn public condemnation.
There have been incidents kidnappings and ritual killings in Etche Local Government Area in recent times.
Victims who returned alive after horrifying and near death experiences from the kidnapper’s lair, have raised serious alarms about a thriving human organ business and ritual killings in the area.
