Atleast two houses were torched, a two-year old boy roasted to death in the Abonnema Wharf Area of Diobu, Port- Harcourt, capital oil of oil-rich Rivers State following a battle of supremacy between rival cult groups in the State.
The fracas which sources told Themeteornewshub, started Monday night, snowballed into a mini war on Tuesday even as a middle-aged man was also gunned down in the crossfire.
Piqued at the death of his son,one of the leaders of the rival gang, mobilized and went for the broke.Their deadly expendition however, paid off when they spotted,shot at one of their rivals at the Mile 1 Market Area of the metropolis which incidentally is the location of the Diobu Divisional Police headquarters.
With death clearly starring him in the face,the victim ran into the station with bullet wounds.
Amid,the confusion, Police Officers on duty shot sporadically in the air to chase away the gunmen and restore a semblance of sanity in the area.
Sources said the victim was detained at the station and will assist the Police in investigating the incident.
