Former Governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Senate of Nigeria,
Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, says he is of the settled convinction that Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike of Rivers State will join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) soon.
Kalu made the declaration while addressing Journalists shortly after Governor Wike had led him on an inspection of projects executed by his administration within Port-Harcourt City and its environs on Thursday.
The tour took them to the Rumuokoro flyover bridge, 2nd Artillery flyover bridge, Real Madrid football Academy and the Mother and Child Hospital in Rumuomasi.
His words: “Wike is a man needed by us in the APC, it is my belief that a messiah can come from anywhere.”
“I urge the Governor to partner with the APC, I discussed with him all through the night to find a common ground with the APC, I believe that very soon it shall come to reality.”
“So I urge Governor Wike to soft pedal on our Party, humans can switch from one Party to another which is human behavior in Africa.”
Chief Kalu, who lauded Governor Wike for his investments in critical infrastructure, called on him to partner with the Federal Government in his quest to sustainably develop the State.
“I appeal to the Governor to find more time to partner with the Federal Government of Nigeria and build more understanding.I appel to him.He has to do that so that the good people of Rivers can benefit more from the Federal Government of Nigeria.”
The request obviously did not go down well with the Governor who shrugged his shoulder.
