Dwindling Revenue: Kano Slashes March Salaries Of Political Office Holders, Appointees!

Following austere times and dwindling resources,Kano State Government has slashed the salaries of political office holders in the State by fifty per cent for the month of March 2021.

The State Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, who made the disclosure in a statement,Tuesday said the action was due to shortfall in the revenue accruing to the State from the Federation Account.

Shedding more light on the policy,he said the decision affected the Governor,his Deputy and all public office holders in the istate including Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants amongst others.

Malam Garba said the development also dovetailed to the Local Government level, where the salary slash affected the Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, elected Councilors, Supervisory Councilors, Advisers and Secretaries of Local Government Councils in the State.
