Over three hundred and thirty students abducted by bandits at the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara,Katsina State last Friday have regained their freedom.
It was learnt that the students were released at about 2.20 pm on Thursday afternoon after spending six nights in captivity.
Although details of their rescue were sketchy at press time,it could not be confirmed if a ransom was paid to secure their release.
Recall that Governor Bello Masari of Katsina State while fielding questions from BBC Hausa Service Wednesday night, said the boys were held in the forests of Zamfara State just as he promised that the authorities will leave no stone unturned in securing their release.
The Defense Headquarters through its Spokesperson, Major General John Enenche said the Military High Command was also on top of the situation.
The boys it was learnt, are been escorted back to Katsina State by the Military.
They will be received by Governor Masari and top government officials on arrival.
