The disciplinary hammer of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has fallen on Senator Magnus Abe for allegedly violating the Party’s Constitution and engaging in acts inimical to the growth of the APC in the State.
Themeteornews can report that the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the State Chapter of the Party,Barr.Isaac Abbot Ogbobula and members of the Caretaker Committee today confirmed the suspension of Senator Abe,Rt.Hon.Igo Aguma, Livingstone Wechie and Hon .Worgu Boms for flagrantly flouting the Party’s Constitution and engaging anti-party activities.
Barr. Ogbobula who announced the suspension, told Journalists that the action was sequel to the suspension of the erring Party members from their Ward,Local Government Area Chapters just as he said recommendations have been made to the National body to expel them from the Party.
In the same vein, the State Caretaker Committee has also expelled members of the parallel Caretaker Committee inaugurated across the State by Hon.Aguma yesterday.
Some political pundits who fielded questions from our correspondent on the matter said the suspension of Senator Abe, Rt. Hon. Aguma and their co-political travelers was long over due.
“You cannot claim to be true Party men masquerading as champions of internal democracy while you connive with the opposition to weaken the same Party you profess to love.
What happened before and during the last election is still very fresh.”
“Suffice it to say that these men who are driven by an inordinate desire to kill the Party in Rivers State are working for the opposition.Their suspension is a welcome development,”a respondent submitted.
It will be recalled the suspended members took the Party to Court despite the interventions of the national leadership of the Party.
