High Chief (Barr.) ezemonye ezekiel-amadi.
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has been urged to concentrate on governance and stop fighting “imagined and imaginary” enemies.
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, High Chief (Barr.) ezemonye ezekiel-amadi gave the charge
while addressing Party faithful and politicians across Party divide at the inauguration of the Executive of Amaechi Vanguard – a Polical Advocacy Group – in Omerelu, Ward 5 in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State on Saturday, February 20,2021.
High Chief. ezemonye ezekiel-amadi who is also the immediate past Commissioner for Lands and Survey in the State, said it is a misnomer for the Governor to question the recent posting of a Commissioner of Police to Rivers State by the Inspector General of Police (IGP),Mahammed Adamu.
His words:” The Governor wakes up everyday and looks for who to fight. If he is not fighting his Party hierarchy, he is fighting his former Commissioners and Local Government Chairmen, or fighting the Army, Police or President Muhammadu Buhari. Now,he is complaining about the posting of a new CP to the State”.
The APC Chieftain equally tasked him to practice what he preaches and see the State as his entire constituency.
” He is the same man who solely handpicks who will be Local Government Chairmen and Councilors but he is not happy that the IGP is exercising his constitutional right to post a CP.The tragedy of all of this is that governance suffers while he is busy chasing shadows”.
“That is the same man who as Minister of State for Education, approached the State Government under the leadership of Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as Governor for land to build an Almajiri School here in Omerelu community.”
“The land was acquired and the school project, fully paid for but go there and see for yourself that a thick forest has taken over that land and nothing was built.Yet he goes about spewing trash, claiming that he is a saint and deceiving himself”.
Barr. ezekiel-amadi also used the medium to laud the newly inaugurated Executive of Amaechi Vanguard and tasked them to use the position to effectively support and market the Minister of Transportation, Rt.Hon.Amaechi.
“Ward 5 is not only for APC,it is for Amaechi and it is because of him that Ward 5 is APC.We are solidly behind you as long as what you are doing is to push Amaechi’s political career and interests because his gain is our gain”.
“He is evidently a special gift from the Ikwerre nation to Nigeria and the whole world. Today, when they talk about Ministers – whether present, past or in future – Amaechi’s name will definitely be mentioned. That is why we are proud of and are solidly behind him as one of us.”
He said Amaechi as Rivers Governor, acquitted himself creditably and left lasting legacies throughout the State
“As Speaker,he was magnificent. As Governor, he had his name and legacy etched in all the Wards and Local Government Areas of the State whether in Health, Education, Infrastructure and Citizens Welfare. He touched every aspect of Governance. He was not a Governor for Ikwerre or Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.People in Abua,Andoni,Bonny, Degema etc felt his impact. He was Governor for the entire Rivers State. So Ward 5 is proud of and will continue to support him till the end,” he said.
He therefore tasked the Ward executive of Amaechi Vanguard to go all out as good Ambassadors of the Group, to mobilize and galvanize support for the APC ahead of the 2023 polls.
“We have a duty therefore to mobilize our people because Wike’s one chance government will come to an end soon.
In 2023,my prayer is that we will be jumping not only from one Local Government Area in Rivers State but in Nigeria campaigning for our Mentor and Leader for life,”he concluded.
Highpoint of the event which was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life, including,Dr.Emmanuel Assor Amadi, former National Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association(NMA); Chiefs, Hon. Precious Ezeocha, Caretaker Committee (CTC) Chairman cum Director of Mobilization and former Councilor Ward 9,Omagwa,Barr.Collins Ordu, Assistant Legal Adviser,Promise Olocha, Coordinator of the Group respectively in KELGA amongst others, were goodwill messages and cultural displays.
